Brett has become the inaugural member of ‘Lofty Friends’, an initiative launched by Lofty Heights - a Suffolk-based non-profit social enterprise that provides employment and training opportunities for young people through its Skills Academy located in Ipswich.

Lofty Friends supports 16–24-year-olds from disadvantaged backgrounds by enabling businesses to sponsor a young person’s place at the academy, helping them gain valuable skills for future employment.

As a part of the programme, Brett will help to provide educational talks and workplace insight opportunities and will receive information regarding student progress.

Chloe Britton, Talent Advisor at Brett Group, who attended the Lofty Friends launch event, said: “Their Skills Academy offers young people a fantastic range of training programmes, including construction courses such as bricklaying, plastering, and carpentry, alongside opportunities in health and social care, as well as bike repair and maintenance.

“The event also provided a valuable opportunity to meet with Christian Bone, the organisation’s CEO, and explore how the scheme enables local businesses to directly support young people’s education.”

Benn Warren, Site Manager at Ipswich Port said: “Many of our employees are from the local area and so we are proud to be able to support such an important community initiative. It’s especially rewarding to be involved in helping young people begin careers in the construction industry.”

It is quite simple to become a Lofty Friend, go to the link below to find out more and get involved with Lofty Heights today!
